Dr. David M. Finkelstein, vice president of the Center for Naval Analyses (CNA), discusses U.S.-China security and military cooperation issues relevant to developments in the South China Sea, Taiwan Strait and the rebalancing of U.S. resources to the Asia-Pacific region.  A retired U.S. Army officer, Dr. Finkelstein has held command and staff positions at the platoon, company, battalion and Major Army Command levels; held China-related Pentagon positions, including as an advisor to the Secretary of Defense and the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff; and taught Chinese history as a West Point faculty member.
